Brief review – Bodegas Lunares

The vineyard in this young winery starts to reach certain age, nine years. They try to get the most from their Syrah, Graciano, Garnacha, with patience, in the extreme Ronda climate.

Altocielo 2008 – first vintage, younger vines. A wild wine, with a very different character. Austere but powerful.

Altocielo 2009 – more polished than the previous one. Balsamic, coffee. More close and reticent.

Altocielo 2010 – the Syrah is most evident here. Still young.

Altocielo 2011 – the finest one. An exemplary submission exercise of that power the Ronda terroir is capable of. Promising but really young right now. To follow in the years to come.

Tip – the also produce a beautiful grenache that is blended in their basic Lunares. Great varietal character and acidity.

Thanks to Pedro Morales and Vicente Inat for inspiring us with your audacity, entrepreneurship, and determination. This is future for the region and the country.
